mySupply’s Successful Participation in ViDA Pilot Project with Nordic Smart Government
mySupply has completed the first phase of the ViDA pilot project in collaboration with Nordic Smart Government. It has been a significant success, demonstrating the streamlining of electronic invoicing and digital VAT reporting across Nordic countries.
The pilot project aims to document the application of the “The Once Only Principle” from the European Commission. The project is based on the use of the Peppol CTC model to comply with requirements for electronic invoicing and digital reporting within ViDA. If the pilot project succeeds, it will contribute to increased efficiency for SMEs by replacing manual reporting processes with a digital VAT reporting process.
mySupply is actively involved in the project and has successfully tested the following using our electronic document management solution, VAX 360 Cloud:
Dispatch (C2 in the five-corner model)
- Dispatch of electronic Peppol BIS 3.0 invoices from Norwegian and Danish suppliers to Swedish, Finnish, and Icelandic customers.
- Developed an automatic mapping that converts Peppol BIS 3.0 invoices into ViDA reports for intra-community trade.
- Automatic dispatch of ViDA reports from mySupply’s Peppol Access Point to the Danish and Norwegian tax authorities (C5) via the Peppol network.
- Receipt of acknowledgment responses from tax authorities and handling of these.
Receipt (C3 in the five-corner model)
- Receipt of electronic Peppol BIS 3.0 invoices from Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, Danish, and Icelandic suppliers on behalf of Norwegian and Danish customers.
- Developed an automatic mapping that converts received Peppol BIS 3.0 invoices into ViDA reports for intra-community trade.
- Automatic dispatch of ViDA reports from mySupply’s Peppol Access Point to the Danish and Norwegian tax authorities (C5) via the Peppol network.
- Receipt of acknowledgment responses from tax authorities and handling of these.
Tax Authority (C5 in the five-corner model)
- mySupply acted as the Peppol Access Point (C5) in the pilot project for the Swedish, Norwegian, and Icelandic tax authorities.
- A unique opportunity to assist the pilot project in achieving its goal and to test the future ViDA solution, where the Peppol CTC model demonstrated its potential for national tax authorities.
The pilot project has verified that:
- The same information sent in the invoice to the seller can be reused to report VAT to the national tax authority.
- The same information received in the invoice for the buyer can be reused to report VAT to the national tax authority.
- The tax authority can use the information to reduce incorrect VAT usage by national SMEs through market-based information analysis of UNSPSC classification and VAT codes and rates.
Nordic Smart Government is a cross-Nordic collaboration with the overarching goal of making the Nordic region the most sustainable and integrated in the world. The collective effort brings the Nordic countries closer to a smarter and more digital future.
mySupply is proud of the excellent results of the ViDA pilot project and our contribution to it. We look forward to future work in this field.
