Peppol makes it possible for companies in Europa to communicate electronically with public buyers in different stages of the procurement process.
Peppol has develop Business Interoperability Specifications (BIS), which cover the most common e-procurement processes. These specifications describe standards for electronics documents and the way these exchanged and validated through ad open and secure network between public buyers and their suppliers. Today Peppol is not only in Europa but also in Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.
BIS-specifications will therefore be mandatory for the public sector in Denmark from January 2023, including the possibility for receiving electronic invoices in Peppol format. Peppol BIS describes electronic catalog:

- It will also be a requirement that you can send a confirmation (the catalog is accepted or rejected) to the supplier – read further here.
